With the generosity of employees, they managed to raise their ransom in record time. More than $550 was raised at this event.

GILLES PATRY
RECEIVED A COMMUNITY BUILDER AWARD
On Wednesday, October 7 at the United Way Leaders and Friends cocktail reception, Dr. Gilles G. Patry received a Community Builder Award.
This award is given by United Way Ottawa to honor Ottawa’s outstanding volunteers that have inspired positive change in our community and
in those around us.
As President and Vice-Chancellor from 2001 to 2008, Dr. Patry launched a second fundraising campaign at the University of Ottawa. A year before its deadline, the campaign had raised $226 million, surpassing the $200 million
goal that had been initially set. Dr. Patry’s leadership allowed for the creation of the University of Ottawa Student in Crisis Fund. Over the past three years, more than $150,000 has been raised to help our students pursue
their studies during a personal financial crisis.
Gilles G. Patry’s name will be inscribed on the Wall of Inspiration located in Jean Pigott Hall at Ottawa City Hall.
The Wall of Inspiration is a visible reminder to residents and visitors of the enduring commitment that these individuals and organizations have made to Ottawa.
The plaque reads: "Thank you for helping to build a stronger, healthier and more caring community for all of us".
